ABC Fora is an interesting new offering from the ABC featuring intellectual, political, cultural and economic debate in Australia.
Recently added to the collection was an event hosted by the University of Technology Sydnet in the UTSpeaks series dealing with the topic of Ethical Eating.
Rosemary Stanton on Ethical Eating
Some of the topics covered include:
Overconsumption
Environmental Issues - production, packaging, transport, disposal
The merits (and potential pitfalls) of organic eating
Moving towards vegetarism
Social Equity
Health
and an eye-opening section on the use and declining availability of Phosphorus.
The vodcast is is 211Mb (36Mb as audio only) and so probably only practical for those with a broadband connection.
The slides aren't very decipherable in the vodcast so the links to the slides from both speakers are here: Slides from Rosemary Stanton's talk, Slides from Dana Cordell's section
I have included links applicable to this story on the Links page.
